For players
Get noticed by college coaches the right way.
Free guides written for players: how to email a coach yourself, what to put in your profile, and how to make your film easy to watch.
Do it yourself, do it well
Three habits coaches notice.
- Send it yourself: one coach, one school, one email.
- A free profile template in English (PDF) and Spanish (PDF).
- Film up front: your best clip in the opening 30 seconds.
Why it matters
Coaches “primarily want to communicate with the athlete,” and they want your best material in the opening thirty seconds of your film (College-Coaches.com). One college coach wrote that recruiting emails he gets “all get deleted within five seconds of opening” and asked players to stop sending mass emails (Patch, 2014).
Your part
You run it. Your parents back you up.
- Use your own email address.
- Keep your film current.
- If you're 13 or older, your own agreement is needed for your profile, along with your parent's consent.
Coming soon Your own light entry on your club's PeakSync Scout team page, if your club is a Founding Fest Club and your parent consents.
My parents handle it.
Coaches want to hear from you; let your parents back you up.
Is my info public?
